Solar focus utilise the latest technology for ground source heat pumps (GSHP) which deliver substantial energy savings, reduce C02 and can provide the complete heating and domestic hot water solution.
How does a geothermal ground source heating (GSHP) work?
One metre below the earth's surface, temperatures remain relatively constant all year round. Our GSHP system consists of an indoor compressor and distribution unit with a buried ground loop of high density polyurethane pipe or specialist collector panels. Utilising the grounds constant temperatures, the system during the winter circulates fluid through the ground loop and absorbs the stored heat and carries it to the indoor unit. The indoor unit compresses the heat to a higher temperature and distributes it throughout the building.
How efficient is a ground source heat pump?
GSHP is 3 to 4 times more efficient than the most efficient traditional heating system. They are eco friendly as they do not burn fossil fuels to make this additional heat, however they do require electricity to power the compressor and typically they use 1 unit of electricity to provide 3 to 4 free units of energy produced. PV solar panels can be integrated to provide electricity for the heat pump and therefore reducing the household carbon footprint.
